 Residency in Warsaw for the Winner and the remaining Laureates
(Julian Cochran Residency Award)​


No upper age limit
Video selection only (single round)
Contestants are not required to play from memory
Competitors must be available for the time of the Warsaw Residency (dates to be announced)


Judging system

No jury chairperson
Each jury member works independently
No communication between jury members
Jury members are obliged to provide written feedback for each contestant


Fees & Eligibility​

We charge a non-refundable application fee of 90 USD, but there are no additional costs involved.
Regardless of the results, every participant will receive:​
  • written feedback on performance from all members of the jury
  • one-on-one conversation via Skype with the jury member of your choice 
  • free scores (hard copies of up to 10 of Julian Cochran’s chosen works)


Total time of submitted video recordings must be 30-40 minutes of music, including:
  • 15-20 minutes of music by Julian Cochran – participant’s own choice of Cochran’s works
  • 15-20 minutes of free choice of repertoire (solo piano repertoire only)
