New addition to International Cochran Piano Competition formula

4th edition of the International Cochran Piano Competition has introduced a new award – Warsaw Residency, which consists of a fully-funded residency in Warsaw for four participants who have received the highest score.
During the Residency laureates will have a possibility to:
take part in both individual and group mentoring sessions with widely known professionals,
perform in Koszyki Hall,
attend the award ceremony at the Palace on the Isle in the Royal Lazienki Park,
get an opportunity to participate in a recording session at the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio
and take part in a professional cover photoshoot.
The Residency takes place from the 9th to the 17th of October 2020.
Gvantsa is a Georgian-born winner of Julian Cochran Piano Competition, who has also received a special prize for the best interpretation of Julian Cochran’s work. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in piano performance at Stony Brook University and actively performing both as a solo pianist and a chamber musician.
Jaeden is a student of the world-renowned Juilliard School and an active advocate for Canadian music. As a citizen of this North American country he is known for his brilliant interpretations of the most beautiful Canadian pieces, which he performs with sensitive touch and thoughtfulness.
Sophia is an accomplished pianist and pedagogue, who throughout her career has performed around the world both solo and with an orchestra. She has graduated from the Catholic University of America and the University of Miami and has been awarded the First Prize at the Washington International Piano Festival Competition.
Viacheslav is a Russian-born pianist and a graduate of famous Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. He has participated in multiple classical music festivals and taken part in numerous international piano competitions.
Workshops during the Residency
Anna is a certified Performance Enhancement Coach who works with outstanding musicians, actors, young and talented professionals from the artistic and creative fields, as well as business representatives. She has a long experience in creating communication projects and organizing special events. In 2009 she established her own consulting company, which has become one of the biggest companies of this kind in Poland. Since 2017 she has held the position of the Creative Director of the only Centre of Musical Entrepreneurship in Poland at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. Through her work she wants to highlight the importance of realising that the limits of both personal and professional fulfillment are determined by one’s imagination. During the Warsaw Residency Anna will run 3 workshops on the topic of artist branding, promotion strategy and creating professional offers for potential clients and sponsors.
Jadwiga is an internationally renowned specialist in music physiology and an author of multiple research projects focusing on music medicine. She is a graduate of the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań and the Institut Européen Médecine des Arts, where she has received a Européen Médecine des Arts – Musique diploma, which has been awarded to her by a special Jury for the first time in nearly 30 years. She is also a lecturer in Music Physiology at Frederic Chopin Music University and a co-founder of Healthy Talent – musician’s health office in Warsaw. She has conducted multiple masterclasses and performed at international symposiums and conferences concerning music medicine around the world. During the Residency she will provide the laureates with significant knowledge about the physiology that is relevant to all musicians.
